Voter education program launched in Baitadi

BAITADI: The voter education programme has been launched in all local levels of Baitadi district in view of the November 20 election to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly.

District Election Officer Madhav Prasad Phunyal said every local level imparted voter education related training to women health volunteers and mobilized them for the same.

The voter education was launched at community-level and the local-level would monitor the voter education program.

He shared, “Voter education programme has been launched by deputing at least one volunteer in every ward. The volunteers along with sample ballot papers are teaching voters how to cast vote.”

According to the District Election Office, Baitadi, the programme launched in view of the coming HoR and Province Assembly elections. It continues till November 17.

The voter education programme is expected to reduce the number of invalid votes.

Similarly, the District Election Office, Baitadi, has conducted mock voting at all local levels of the district with an objective of imparting knowledge about the way vote is cast.

Baitadi district, with 150,156 voters, has only one constituency.
