Singer Merina Rai and Sanjeev Baraili break off their engagement

KATHMANDU: Singer Melina Rai has announced that she has broken off her engagement with Sanjeev Baraili.

Taking to social media on Friday, Melina said they mutually decided to end their engagement after much thought and discussion.

The singer wrote on Facebook, “A while ago, I announced my engagement through this social media. It was a serious decision of my life. Both of us, at that time, made a decision to be together in the future. In that short time, we had a long discussion about life. After much self-evaluation, we concluded that it would be very difficult for use to reach our common goal by riding on weak foundations.”

She has mentioned that they decided to separate due to clear ideological differences between them.

Stating that not all engagements turn into marriage, she apologized for the emotional impact on her well-wishers.

Melina had revealed her love relationship for two years a few months ago and was looking forward to getting married.
