Maoist leaders urge Chair Prachanda to contest in upcoming polls from four districts



KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been urged by party leaders to compete in the upcoming general elections from four different districts.

Maoist leaders have asked Prachanda not to compete in the polls from Chitwan this time. They rather urged him to contest from Gorkha-1 or Dhanusha-1 or Sindhuli-2 or Siraha-3.

However, Prachanda is yet to make any decision on the matter. The Maoist chairman has been seen frequently saying that he wants to compete in the elections from Chitwan-3.

In the first constitutional assembly election, Dahal was elected from Rolpa and Kathmandu.

In the second constitutional assembly election, he competed from Kathmandu and Siraha and was elected from Siraha.

Likewise, Dahal was elected to the House of Representatives from Chitwan-3 in 2017.
