Heavy rain forecast, people urged to remain alert



KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast heavy rainfall in some parts of the country today due to the influence of monsoon winds.

There is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of Gandaki, Karnali and Far-Western states on Tuesday, the Division has said.

It has also urged people to take necessary precautions as the water level in rivers and streams may rise due to heavy rains and daily life and the transport sector may be affected.

Likewise, there will be normal changes across the country on Wednesday.

Light to moderate rain is expected in many parts of the country, while heavy rains are also expected in Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and one or two places in the far western states.

Currently, rainfall is taking place in some parts of the country, it said.
