Traffic police curb unauthorized use of govt vehicles on public holidays



JANAKPUR: Traffic police have started taking control of government vehicles plying the roads on public holidays to curb unauthorized use in Janakpurdham.

The government declared twice a week holidays on Saturdays and Sundays in order to minimize the consumption of petroleum products.

However, after government office vehicle were found to be plying the roads on holidays without any valid reason, traffic police began to stop the unauthorized use of government vehicles.

District Traffic Police said that 14 government vehicles were taken under control on Saturday and Sunday.

Vehicles taken under control would be handed over only on the day offices open, police office added.

“We have been holding the vehicles and will hand over them to the authorized personnel only on weekdays.”
