Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that the country will plunge into a disaster if Nepali Congress supporters of Bharatpur did not cast their votes for Maoist Center’s mayoral candidate, Renu Dahal.
Addressing a mass rally in Bharatpur on Thursday, Prachanda said that he had formed the Left Alliance for electoral coordination with the CPN-UML after NC showed reluctance to vote for the Maoists in the previous general election.

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the party leaders and cadres not to create a fuss over the candidacy of Renu Dahal for the post of mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
Addressing a mass gathering organized by the ruling alliance at Bharatpur in Chitwan on Thursday, Deuba said a conspiracy was being hatched to dismantle the alliance. “Our party will crumble if we fall prey to such conspiracy,” he said.

The United States of America is to provide $ 659 million (equivalent to Rs 79.71 billion) to Nepal for supporting its goal of graduating to a middle-income country.

Lightning kills 44-yr-old man in Okhaldhunga
A man has died after being struck by lightning strikes in Liku rural municipality-8, Tarkerabari in Okhaldhunga.
The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Dev Bahadur Darji of the same place. Megh Bahadur Darji,40, and Dev Bahadur were sitting at Chautara (resting place) nearby when the lighting struck.

EC communiqué to government to shut down international borders
The Election Commission (EC) has written to the Government of Nepal to close all international border crossings 48 hours prior to polling day (May 13).
