NC Prez Deuba urges not to create fuss over Renu Dahal’s mayor candidacy in Bharatpur

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the party leaders and cadres not to create a fuss over the candidacy of Renu Dahal for the post of mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City.

Addressing a mass gathering organized by the ruling alliance at Bharatpur in Chitwan on Thursday, Deuba said a conspiracy was being hatched to dismantle the alliance. “Our party will crumble if we fall prey to such conspiracy,” he said.

Urging NC cadres to support Maoist Center mayor candidate Renu Dahal on May 13 local election without any hesitation, Deuba said the NC would also get the opportunity if the party delivers in the future.

Deuba said, “We can ask her to pave the way for us and support us in the future. But at present, we need to support her to ensure her victory.”

Citing the development of Bharatpur metropolis in the past five years, he also thanked Dahal for her outstanding work in the metropolis.
