AFC Cup Qualifiers 2022: Machhindra taking on Blue Star today

KATHMANDU: Machhindra Football Club is taking on Blue Star of Sri Lanka in a play-off under the AFC Cup Qualifiers 2022 today.

The match between A Division champion Machhindra and Blue Star will be held at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor at 5 pm. Machhindra Club is making a debut in the AFC Cup Qualifiers.

Machhindra Club had missed the AFC match last year due to the lack of club license. Coach Prabesh Katwal admitted that the opponent team is a tough team and preparations have been made accordingly. Katwal added that no changes have been made in the team.

“No changes have been made in our team. All the 24 players are from the League itself. Blue Star is the champion of the League of Sri Lanka. It is a tough team,” said Katwal.

Captain Sujal Shrestha said Machhindra Club has aimed higher than the second edition of the match.
