Madhes province assembly meeting postponed for third time



JANAKPURDHAM: The province assembly meeting of Madhes province has been postponed for the third time.

Issuing a notice on Saturday, Madhes Province Assembly Secretariat informed that the province assembly scheduled for March 6 has been postponed again till March 23.

Earlier, the meetings convened on February 13 and 23 were also postponed by the Provincial Assembly Secretariat due to special reasons.

The meeting was postponed due to the arrival of CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda in Janakpur to celebrate the People’s War Day on February 13.

Similarly, the meeting scheduled for March 6 has been postponed as Gandaki Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali is on a visit to Madhes.

According to Ranjit Yadav, Press Adviser to Speaker Saroj Kumar Yadav, the state assembly has been postponed due to the busy schedule of the Chief Minister and the lawmakers.
