Nepal asks India for cooperation to rescue Nepalis from Ukraine

KATHMANDU: The Nepal government has asked the India government for cooperation to rescue Nepali people stranded in war-torn Ukraine.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that the India government is positive about rescuing the Nepalis who have fled to various countries including Poland from Ukraine after Russia invaded into it.

India has sent an airbus to Ukraine to rescue Indian nationals. The Nepal government is asking India to rescue stranded Nepalis via the same plane.

The Foreign Ministry has urged the Nepalis willing to return home can drop their names, contact numbers and their present address at the Nepali Embassy in Berlin.

According to the Embassy, 511 Nepalis have arrived in Poland, 71 in Slovakia, 27 in Romania, six in Hungary and four in Maldova.
