Pyuthan mishap update: 5 among the 8 deceased identified



PYUTHAN: Eight people have been killed in a jeep accident in Pyuthan.

According to police, eight people including five women and three men have died in the accident that occurred Saturday morning. Six others were injured.

The jeep was returning from a wedding carrying people, including a bride and a groom.

While six died on the spot, two died in the hospital.

The injured were rushed to the hospital.

Five of the dead have been identified. The deceased have been identified as Basanti Khadka, 40, Keshari Khadka, 30, Bal Bahadur Budhamagar, 50, Khim Bahadur Khatri, 32, and Nandi Khadka, 50.

The identities of the others are yet to be ascertained.

Five persons injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Bijuwar.

The jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5092) carrying the bride from Lung Baune of Naubahini village to Liwang of Gaumukhi village met with an accident at Okharpata on Saturday morning.

The jeep had fallen some 300 meters down the road, police said.
