Baluwatar land grab case: CIB issues arrest warrants against 300 people, including Bijay Gachchhadar



KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has finalized the investigation into the Baluwatar land scam.

According to sources, more than 300 arrest warrants, including some “high profiles”, have been issued for investigation.

Sources, meanwhile, said that arrest warrants have been issued against Nepali Congress leader and the then Minister for Physical Planning and Works and Congress leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar.

Likewise, the Bureau has also issued the warrant against then Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Deep Kumar Basnyat, Chhabiraj Pant, among others.

The Bureau is also preparing to take the investigation report to the district public prosecutor’s office without arresting the “high profile” people.

Earlier, police have arrested Shobha Kanta Dhakal, Ram Kumar Subedi and Madhavi Subedi accused of being the “middlemen” in the Baluwatar land grab case.

The Anti-Money Laundering Investigation Department is investigating allegations of corruption against the former Chief Commissioner of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Basnyat.

Along with him, his son Kamal Basnet, son-in-law Prajwal Adhikari and Manoj Subedi are under investigation.
