Ruling coalition to hold election review meeting on Monday

KATHMANDU: The leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC)-led ruling coalition have decided to call the meeting of the ruling coalition on Monday.

Speaking to the press after CPN-Maoist Center’s office bearers’ meeting, Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Gurung informed that the ruling coalition would meet tomorrow to review the election.

The meeting has been called for 3 pm.

The parties in the ruling coalition contested the elections all over the country. NC has won 57 seats, while Maoist Center has won 17 seats, United Socialist Party has won 10 seats, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party has won 4 seats and Rashtriya Janamorcha has won one seat in the House of Representatives.

Citing the difference between the votes parties garnered under proportional representation system and under the first-past-the-post system, there have been some voices against the coalition in the Maoist Center.

Only on Saturday, the Maoists Center had decided to open all options for coalition.
