RPP Chair Lingden announces resignation as lawmaker

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has resigned from the post of lawmaker.

The RPP chair announced his resignation during his address to the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday.

In his address to the HoR today, he said that his party was against the extension of tenure of the parliament after the elected date had been announced for November 20.

He said that his presence in parliament was getting slimmer as he had to travel all over the country to boost the presence of his party in the next parliament.

He added that the government had embarrassed all when it recently introduced a proposal to extend the HoR term.

RPP Chairman Lingden said, “I will not be present in parliament here on. The salary allowance facility disbursed in my name should be stopped.”
