Govt to announce cash prize of Rs 13 million to gold medalist in Olympic Games



KATHMANDU: Minister for Youth and Sports Maheshwor Jung Gahatraj has said the government was working for legal provision to announce the cash prize of Rs 13 million to the gold medalist in the Olympic Games.

Minister Gahatraj said the gold medalist of the Asian Games will get Rs 3 million in cash.

“Players playing games for the nation will get appropriate honour and prize. The provision will be passed from the upcoming cabinet meeting,” Minister Gahatraj said.

He added that preparations were ongoing for the upcoming SAF Games and Asian Games as well.
