MYAGDI: Caretakers have been mobilized for imparting information about flooding in the key rivers in Myagdi.

According to the District Disaster Management Committee, the local governments of Myagdi have mobilized caretakers to disseminate information about flooding in the Kaligandaki, Myagdi and Rahughat rivers, especially in the rainy season.

Chief District Officer of Myagdi Chiranjibi Rana said caretakers have been mobilized to routinely provide information about the status of flooding on the river bank area.

“Caretakers have been placed in the upper region as flooding in the river poses higher risks to the people residing on the river banks”, he said, adding, “Six caretakers are being mobilized in the vulnerable areas, one from each local government”.

The caretakers are also entrusted to impart information about the flood-related early warning to the local governments, district police office (control section) and district emergency operations centre.
