Khabarhub’s contributor, analyst Subedi appointed foreign affairs adviser to PM



KATHMANDU: Writer and regular contributor to Khabarhub and analyst Arun Kumar Subedi has been appointed as the foreign affairs advisor to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers decided to appoint Subedi as PM Deuba’s Foreign Affairs Advisor.

Confirming Subedi’s appointment, a government minister told Khabarhub that formal announcement to this effect would be made shortly.

Subedi is a regular columnist and analyst at Khabarhub.com.

Born and grown in a remote village Kurule Tenupa of Dhankuta, he completed his high school at Madhumalla, Morang, and I.SC from Dharan.

He then joined Tri Chandra College in Kathmandu, and eventually completed his Master’s degree in Chemistry from Tribhuvan University (TU).

Even though he believes in moderate conservative thoughts, he has not been associated with any political parties though he was affiliated with the Nepali Congress (NC) and active in the democratic movement against the autocratic Panchayat regime in the past.

His field of studies includes geopolitics, international politics, development economics and geo-economics, bilateral and multicultural dynamics of Indo-Nepal, Sino-Nepal and Indo-Sino-Nepal relations, and Nepal’s water resources, among other issues.

He has also authored several books, including “Maya Tatha Leela” (Manifestation and Dynamism): A book on comparative studies on the quantum paradigm and Vedanta; “Sapana Kaa Gathaaharu” (Anthology of Dreams): A book on the development modeling of Nepal; and “Jal Sapana” (Dream on Water): A book on integrated utilization of Nepalese rivers in connection with BBIN states and rivers linking proposal of Himalayan Rivers in India, Nepal and Bhutan.

Likewise, he has also authored “Swapnayatra”, a futuristic development fiction covering the geography of Nepal and its vicinity.
