Nepal lose to Oman 2-0 in friendly match

KATHMANDU: Nepali national football team have lost to Oman in a friendly practice match. Nepal lost 2-0 to Oman in a match played at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium in Qatar on Friday night.

Omar Al Maliki and Issam Al Sabhi scored one goal each for Oman’s victory. Nepal, which are preparing for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers in Doha, played their third practice match against Oman.

Earlier, Nepal drew 2-2 with U-23 team of Timor Leste in a friendly match. Similarly, they drew 1-1 with Sri Lanka. Nepali team and Qatar will go to Kuwait for selection after making additional preparations.

Nepal are in Group A alongside Kuwait, Indonesia and Jordan. Selection games will be from June 8 to 14.

Nepal will start the selection by playing against Jordan on June 8. In the second match, Nepal will face Kuwait on June 11. Nepal will play against Indonesia on June 14. The top team of each group and the best second team of five groups will be selected for the Asian Cup 2023.
