NC and ruling alliance candidates must be made victorious: PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it was necessary to make Nepali Congress and ruling alliance candidates victorious to safeguard the democracy and constitution.

During a meeting with central office-bearers of the Nepal Press Union here today, the NC pointed out the need of ensuring a win for the candidates in favor of democracy and change in the local-level election scheduled for May 13 to protect the constitution, democracy and republicanism.

Stating that the five-party alliance was formed to protect and strengthen the federal democratic republic, constitution and basic norms and values of democracy, he expressed the view that electoral alliance and collaboration have been made among democratic forces formed for a change.

The NC President further said that democracy would be strengthened only if NC becomes strong, mentioning that NC has always stood for democracy, press freedom and citizen rights and it would continue with the same stance in the days to come.
