Govt administering additional dose to target group from today



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population is administering additional dose of vaccine against COVID-19 to the target group from today.

Deputy spokesperson of the Ministry, Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari, said that additional one dose of vaccine is going to be administered to the targeted people, who have already been vaccinated with full dose of vaccine at least three months ago.

The dose would be available in all the existing vaccination centers except the centers set for vaccinating children. The target group people have to take their previous vaccination card to get the third dose.

The Ministry said that people with moderate to severe immunodeficiency, cancer patients, organ transplant patients, HIV infected patients, patients taking immunosuppressive drugs during treatment and senior citizens 60 years and above who have been vaccinated with Vero Cell vaccines will be eligible for the additional dose.
