Eighth Summer Ski Festival on February 10



GANDAKI: The eighth edition of the Summer Ski Festival is taking place on February 10-18.

Sustainable Himalayan Fund is to organize the the week-long festival in the Mardi Mountain region primarily to develop and promote ski tourism in Nepal, said Prabhat Adhikari, member of the Fund, adding that preparations for the festival were underway.

Krishna Thapa Magar will coach and coordinate the festival, which has been named as Great Himalayan Ski Visit.

An estimated of Rs 1.6 million will be spent for the celebration and Rs 220,000 has been allocated to insure participants, he said.

Earlier, the festival took place in tourist destinations, Manaslu and Kalinchowk.
