Alliance imperative for coming days: PM Deuba

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the ruling alliance is imperative for coming days.

PM Deuba, who reached home district Dadeldhura, in course of election campaigning made such remark on Thursday.

He reminded that the five-party alliance was formed after the UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli attempted to destroy constitution. The alliance was made to save democracy and constitution, PM Deuba argued.

Addressing the joint election publicity programme in the district headquarters on Thursday, PM Deuba made it clear that he was pressed by leaders Prachanda and Madhav Kumar Nepal to be the prime minister though he did not like to be. NC President Deuba shared that he got support from the Maoist Centre, Unified Socialist, Janamorcha and Madhes centric parties.

The five-party alliance was therefore against authoritarian attitude. “Present alliance should continue till the country makes economic prosperity and creates job,” PM Deuba underscored.

He further said he was always devoted to the development of Dadeldhura district. He vowed to construct a four-lane road from Dadeldhura to Dhangadhi. The NC President also reminded that works for the medical college in Dadeldhura were forwarded. Similarly, agreement was made with India on West Seti Hydro Project and necessary works taken ahead.

He urged the district people to protect heritages and traditional cultures.

PM Deuba requested them to cast votes to the alliance candidates. The district people need not hesitate but vote for the alliance candidates.
