PM Deuba addressing mass assemblies in Dadeldhura today

DHANGADHI: Nepali Congress (NC) President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is addressing election assemblies at his constituency in Dadeldhura on Thursday.

He is scheduled to address seven election assemblies at different places in the district from November 3-6.

PM Deuba arrived in Dhangadhi on Wednesday.

The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday allowed PM Deuba to visit his Dadeldhura constituency.

The Prime Minister was allowed to go to Dadeldhura only at personal or party expense, without using government resources.

Earlier, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers had sent a letter and asked for permission for Prime Minister Deuba’s Dadeldhura visit.

At that time, EC had refused to give permission saying that the PM could not go there at government expense.

But after PM Deuba’s secretariat wrote to EC seeking permission to go to Dadeldhura at personal or party expense, the approval was granted.

The EC had earlier stipulated in the code of conduct that the prime minister and ministers are not allowed to campaign in areas other than where they are candidates.
