Seat sharing: Meeting of ruling coalition underway at Baluwatar



KATHMANDU: Leaders of the ruling coalition are holding a discussion to finalize the allocation of seats in the November 20 election.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar is said to finalize the allocation of seats among the five ruling parties.

Efforts are being made to settle the issue, Baluwatar sources said.

On Sunday, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav warned of quitting the alliance if its demands were not met.

The JSP, which is likely to get 16 seats, has been demanding at least 22 seats in the elections.

Meanwhile, the United Socialist Party has claimed at least 25 seats.
