KATHMANDU: The Traffic Police has taken action against 2,042 drivers in the Kathmandu Valley on a single day.

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has taken action against 2,042 drivers for violating traffic rules at various places in the Valley.

The Traffic Police has taken action against 233 people driving under the influence of alcohol.

Likewise, 107 people have been taken action for parking on the sidewalk, 95 people driving at high speed, 63 drivers for boarding passengers randomly, and 50 people for violating the lane.

According to the office, the traffic police took action against 57 drivers for keeping the door of the buses open, 49 for violating red lights, 21 for driving without proper conditions and 21 for overcrowding.
