Coalition will last till federal parliament election: NC spokesperson Mahat

CHITWAN: Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that the present five-party alliance will continue until the upcoming federal parliament election.

The alliance forged at the local level will last till the upcoming election, Dr Mahat said while speaking in Chitwan today.

Noting that overall a positive result has come out in the local level election, he urged the party leaders and cadres to go by the decision made in the meeting of the ruling coalition.

He further stated that the Nepali Congress has never harboured egoism and what the coalition partner parties’ leaders have said in course of training to their party cadres did not have any significance.

“The Nepali Congress is not on the path of egoism. Dahal might have said it in course of training for his party cadres. I don’t think this has to be given much importance,” the NC spokesperson said responding to a journalist’s question regarding what the CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said in course of a party training.

Dr Mahat said agreement has been made even for the upcoming District Coordination Committee (DCC) elections, calling on the party rank and file to be committed to this agreement.

“Let us follow with commitment the agreement reached among the coalition leaders,” he reiterated.

The party spokesperson said that anti-coalition activities have taken place as an exception in few places.
