Transportation fare adjusted after fuel price deduction



KATHMANDU: Responding to the price adjustment in the petroleum product, the government has reduced the fare of public transport.

Issuing a public notice on Friday, the government the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) informed that the fare in public transport has been adjusted from Friday.

According to the department, the fare for passenger vehicles has been reduced by 2 percent.

Similarly, freight rates have been reduced by 2.6 percent for hilly roads and 2.9 percent for lowland vehicles.

The department has reduced the fare as per the arrangement of applying automatic fare according to the price of fuel.

Oil Corporation had reduced the price of petroleum products with effect from Friday.

The department has stated that the fare has been adjusted as the price of diesel has been reduced by 6.1 percent from the previously adjusted price.
