KATHMANDU: The High Court has upheld the order issued by both the district courts on the rape case of Nepali film actor Paul Shah.

The High Court issued the order on the case to this effect on Thursday.

A joint bench of Pokhara High Court Judge Ujjwal Shukla and Shridhara Kumari Pudasaini on Thursday upheld the verdict of both the districts.

Currently, Shah is incarcerated in Tanahun Jail for trial in the case of rape of a minor.

Shah had demanded that the case be tried by keeping him out of jail. Paul Shah had filed a petition against Tanahun’s order on April 1, 2008 and against Nawalpur’s order on April 26.

Similarly, the government prosecutor’s office has also filed a petition in the high court against Tanahun’s order.
