TU padlocked yet again

KATHMANDU: Less than 24 hours after the padlock was broken at Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal Students Union (NSU), a sister organization of Nepali Congress, padlocked the TU yet again.

The NSU locked the office of the office bearers including the office of the Vice Chancellor in Kirtipur within 24 hours of breaking the padlock on Thursday.

The NSU had been continuously padlocking the TU since January 21 with various demands including dismissal of the office bearers.

However, on Wednesday, the CPN (Revolutionary) broke the padlock by pasting a statement signed by Safal, in-charge of the party’s Central Command.

The NSU, which had made the dismissal of the office-bearers a last resort, reiterated its stance not to unlock the lock until the demands were met.

However, a team led by NSU Tribhuvan University Secretary Yogendra Rawal said that the padlocking of the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Rector, and Registrar would continue.
