President Bhandari stresses quality education

SINDHUPALCHOWK: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has stressed the need for ensuring quality education.

Education should be commensurate to the investment in this sector, she added. President Bhandari said it while inaugurating a newly constructed building of the Thangpal Valley Secondary School at Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-4 of Sindhupalchowk district on Sunday.

The school building was demolished by the 2015 Earthquake. She hoped that the school would cater quality education.

The President expressed worry that Nepal’s highlands were facing acute impacts of climate change- dearth of snow, risk of glacial lake outburst, flashflood etc.

She emphasized on climate adaptation with proper plans. On the occasion, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Poudel, said the new structure of the school would be helpful to ensure quality.

Government is committed to building physical infrastructures for the educational development of country.

Lawmaker from constituency no 2 of Sindhupalchowk and former minister Sher Bahadur Tamang viewed development activities could be advanced in collaboration irrespective of the difference in political ideology.

It was informed at the programme that Asian Development Bank (ADB) had provided Rs 240 million for the construction of school building.
