Government instructs CDOs to ensure smooth supply of essentials



KATHMANDU: The government has directed all concerned bodies and businessmen to make petroleum products and daily necessities easily available.

Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, who is also the caretaker Prime Minister, has instructed all concerned not to increase prices of essential commodities, and to make petroleum products easily available.

Home Ministry spokesperson Phanindra Mani Pokharel said that the government would ensure smooth supply of petroleum products, and not allow businessmen to increase the prices of essential commodities.

He added that the ministry has instructed the secretaries of the concerned ministries including the home ministry to send a circular to the chief district officers of all the districts.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the 77 district administration offices to send monitoring teams and report through the market monitoring committee from Sunday after the complaints of unnatural increase in the prices of daily necessities increased.
