All petrol pumps to open from 8 am today

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and agitating petroleum entrepreneurs coordination committee have signed an agreement, thereby easing the supplies and distribution of petroleum projects.

With the agreement signed at the NOC’s central office in Teku on Saturday, the state oil monopoly said all the depots and petrol pumps under the NOC will remain open from 8 am today.

According to the agreement, the government will address demands of the petroleum entrepreneurs including commission and adjustment in transport fare within a week, the NOC said. Similarly, the other issues related to transaction of petroleum products will be addressed by May 29.

All the agitating associations — Nepal Petroleum Dealers National Association, Nepal LP Gas Udyog Sangha and Nepal Petroleum Transport Entrepreneurs — have withdrawn their protest programs following the agreement.
