Former Councillor Gurung to help establish computer lab at community schools



JHAPA: Former Councillor of Foxton City in London, Dhan Kiran Gurung has announced to establish a computer lab at all community schools of Mechinagar municipality.

A resident of Kakadbhitta of Mechinagar Municipality-10, Gurung is a retired British Gurkha Army. He now lives in London. He is chairperson of the Gurkha Memorial Fund formed in London.

Gurung is the first Nepali citizen appointed Councillor of Foxton City in London.

At a program organized by Gurkha Memorial Foundation Nepal at Kakadbhitta, Gurung, who is currently on a visit to Nepal, announced to help establish a computer lab at all community schools of Mechinagar Municipality in order to facilitate computer education in government schools.

He shared that a project to establish a computer lab in community schools of Mechinagar would start from 2024 and preparation in this regard is underway.

A sister relation has already been established between Mechinagar Municipality and Foxton City of London at Gurung’s initiative.

The Fund at the initiative of Gurung had established a computer lab at Kakadbhitta Higher-Secondary School by providing 31computers and CCTV four years ago.
