IGP Singh, US Ambassador meet at Naxal



KATHMANDU: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dheeraj Pratap Singh and US Ambassador to Nepal, Dean R Thompson, held a meeting at the Police Headquarters, Naxal, today.

On the occasion, Singh thanked the US government for the assistance it has been providing to the Nepal Police. He also expressed the belief that this cooperation would be continued in the coming days as well and the mutual relations would be closer.

During the meeting, the US Ambassador appreciated the special role played by Nepal Police in conducting the recently held general election in a peaceful, impartial and fearless environment.

He expressed the US government’s commitment to extending support for making arrangement for training to produce capable human resources in the Nepal Police as well as for development of technology, controlling cybercrime and the women and children sectors.

Stating that the US nationals consider themselves secure in Nepal due to the policy adopted by the Nepal Police in upholding the public security, Ambassador Thompson thanked the Nepal Police for that.

IGP Singh and the US Ambassador also discussed on matters of bilateral interest and mutual relations between Nepal and the United States of America.
