Bodies of three more persons missing in Myagdi landslide recovered



MYAGDI: Bodies of three more people missing in the landslide that occurred at Taman village of Malika rural municipality-2 in Myagdi district have been found.

The bodies of three persons from the same family were found buried, said ward member Bhakta Bahadur Pun. They had gone missing when the landslide swept away two houses at around 3:00 am on Tuesday.

“The bodies have been retrieved from landslide and all three deceased are from the same family. Two persons were found dead in the same landslide in the morning. Now, three bodies have been recovered,” added Pun. All the five deceased are from the same family.

The deceased are Gham Bahadur BK, Raju BK and Roji BK. Although search and rescue operation was carried out from the morning, rescue works have been hampered following continuous landslide.

Gote and Gori BK were injured in the incident. Preparation is underway to send the injured to Darbang for further treatment from Rum health post.

Malika rural municipality chair Beg Bahadur Garbuja expressed sorrow over those killed in landslide, adding treatment of the injured would be carried out and relief would be provided to the family of the deceased.

Meanwhile, those who are at the risk of landslide and flood are requested to go to safer place. (RSS)
