Morang husband burns wife to death



BIRATNAGAR: The police have arrested a man on charge of setting his wife on fire and killing her in Rangeli, Morang.

According to DSP Deepak Shrestha, Tilka Mallik, a resident of Rangeli Municipality-1, Birtabazar, Morang, has been nabbed on allegation of murdering his wife Babita mallik, 31.

DSP Shrestha informed that the preliminary investigation shows that Tilka had sprayed kerosene on his wife and burnt her to death over a domestic dispute at arount 10 PM on Friday.

A team from Rangeli Area Police Office took Tilka under control while searching for him.

Babita, who was injured in the fire, was taken to Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar for treatment. She died at 6 a.m. Saturday, police said.

Police have launched further investigation into the incident.

According to the police, the fire damaged also gutted property worth Rs 200,000.
