COAS Sharma visits UN Headquarters



KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff of Nepal Prabhuram Sharma and members of the visiting delegation, who are on an official visit to the United States, visited the United Nations Headquarters on Friday.

According to the Military Public Relations and Information Directorate, Sharma met with high-ranking UN officials at the headquarters and discussed issues of mutual interest and reciprocity, as well as various aspects of the UN mission.

He met with Birame Diop, Military Adviser at the Office of Military Affairs, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, Deputy Secretary General of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations, Atul Khare, Deputy Secretary General of the Department of Operations Assistance, and Rosemary DiCarlo, Deputy Secretary General of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs.

COAS Sharma is on an official visit to the United States from June 3 after completing his visit to Lebanon from June 18 to 22 and the peacekeeping mission in Syria on June 23 and 24.

The Nepal Army Chief is scheduled to return home on Sunday after completing his visit.
