Nepal defeats Ontario Cricket Club by 69 runs



KATHMANDU: The Nepali cricket team, which is on a tour of Canada, scored 220 runs in the first 50 overs losing 8 wickets to get victory over Ontario Cricket Club in a practice match played before formal matches in Canada.

Binod Bhandari top-scored for Nepal with 57 runs.

Similarly, Asif Sheikh scored 42 runs, Dev Khanal 27 runs and Adil Alam 10 runs remained unbeaten.

Following Nepal’s target of 221 runs, Ontario was bowled out for 151 in 42 overs.

Pawan Sarraf of Nepal took 3 wickets, Dipendra Singh Airy, Arif Sheikh and Kishore Mahato took 2/2 wickets each.

Nepal played this practice game before the series against Canada. Now, Nepal will play a two-match ODI series against Canada.

The game will be played on July 4 and 5.
