PM, Prachanda and Nepal to inspect Nijgadh Airport in Bara today

KATHMANDU: Leaders of the ruling five-party alliance are scheduled to inspect the construction site of the Nijgadh International Airport in Bara today.

A leader of the coalition informed that a team of top leaders including Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will go to Nijgadh from Kathmandu this morning.

Along with Prime Minister Deuba, top leaders including Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal are going to observe the construction site of the airport.

Top leaders are visiting the construction site for the first time since the Supreme Court ruled that the airport could be built by striking a balance between environment and infrastructure development.

“After the visit, the government will make the necessary decision on whether to proceed with the construction of the international airport,” the leader said.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled in favor of the government in the construction of the airport.
