House swept away in Panchthar, three persons missing



PANCHTHAR: Three persons have gone missing after a landslide swept away a house in Panchthar.

Three persons, including 42-year-old Rupa Lal, have gone missing after the house of Ruplal Magar of Phalelung Rural Municipality-7 in Panchthar was swept away by landslide triggered by incessant rainfall.

Among the missing are his wife Goma, 38, and niece Elisa, 19. Ruplal’s uncle Dal Prasad Magar, 71, has managed to survive the landslide.

The landslide washed away Ruplal’s house and cowshed in the incident that took place on Friday night, according to the District Police Office, Panchthar.

A team of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident, said Rakesh Thapa, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office, Panchthar.

However, those missing were not found till this morning.
