NOC reduces price of petroleum products by Rs 10

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the price of petroleum products Rs 10 per liter.

The price has been decreased with effect from Thursday midnight.

According to NOC Spokesperson Binit Mani Upadhyaya, the NOC board of directors decided to reduce the price by Rs 10.

With this, the price of petrol has come down to Rs 170 per liter and the price of diesel and kerosene to Rs 153 per liter.

Unified Socialist Chair Nepal rules out possibility of communist unification

SURKHET: Chairperson of the Unified Socialist, Madhav Kumar Nepal, has ruled out the possibility of communist unification at present.

There is no truth in the reports about an alliance between the CPN-UML, the Maoist Center, and the Unified Socialist, he said at a program in Surkhet.

Ruling coalition will continue: Maoist leader Pun

CPN-Maoist Center leader Barshaman Pun has said that the ruling coalition will be continued for a couple of years.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Thursday, Pun said that the alliance would last for a few more years.

It may be recalled that Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” had on Wednesday warned that the Nepali Congress (NC) party, a ruling coalition partner, would meet the same fate as the CPN-UML if it showed arrogance and pride.

Bodies of those killed in Tara plane crash handed over to families

The bodies of those who lost their lives in the Tara Air plane crash have been handed over to their families after postmortem at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

The government handed over the bodies of 22 people who died in the accident on Sunday.

Tara Air’s plane, which was flying from Pokhara in Kaski to Jomsom in Mustang, had crashed on Sanusare hill in Thasang-2 of Mustang.

Thirteen Nepalese, four Indians and two Germans, including three crew members, were killed in the crash.

Tension flared up at Dhamboji Chowk in Nepalgunj

Tension flared up in Nepalgunj of Banke on Thursday after the police administration intervened in an attempt to keep a statue of the late King Birendra.

Police opened fires in the air and tear gas shells to control the situation.

Birendra’s statue at Dhamboji Chowk was vandalized during the People’s Movement of 2062/63 BS.

Following the movement, the statue of Birendra was replaced by a national flag.
