Mets predict light to moderate rainfall

KATHMANDU: Light to moderate rainfall is predicted to continue in most parts of the country as pre-monsoon has become active, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The low pressure line in Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas of Bihar, India and the impact of the westerly winds have caused it, according to meteorologist Raju Pradhananga.

“The impact of the weather system will weaken when monsoon enters Nepal.”

The average time for monsoon to enter is considered June 13. Light to moderate rain is predicted in some areas of Province 1, Madhes Province, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province with a partly to general change in the weather and one; or two hilly areas of the remaining provinces are likely to receive thundershowers coupled with a storm, according to the Department.
