KATHMANDU: “We sell cotton candy” is the first premium cotton candy manufacturing company in Nepal. It believes in bringing back to life the almost disappeared trend of the sweet delicacies that melt in your mouth and subtly revive your nostalgia.

Pink Cotton Candies have been seen and enjoyed by almost everyone in fairs, events and randomly on the streets with a stick and packed in plastic.

It has been a long time since these cotton candies existed in the Nepalese market, shining through the plastic bags wherever there is a crowd.

It’s an eye-catching sight indeed. But being mobilized in the hustling bustling environment filled with dust and dirt, the hygiene of those cotton candies remains a big question.

Seizing the opportunity, We Sell Cotton Candy launched the premium cotton candies with the facility of home delivery amidst the second lockdown due to COVID in July 2021.

When asked their take on why it is called premium cotton candies, the company stated that they use permitted colors and flavors and quality sugar to make these sweet delicacies.

They also make sure that all the production staff sanitizes themselves before entering the production unit and use gloves and anti-hair fall caps during the production process.

The packaging for these cotton candies is little plastic tubs that are air-sealed and can last up to a couple of months.

The public has been giving a lot of positive reviews and has been promoting cotton candies. Anusha Sharma, one of the customers says, “The Cotton Candies they sell have become one of my go-to’s. One of the reasons is because of the hygiene they serve, secondly, the unique flavors they have, whether the coffee one or The Forbidden Whiskey.

We asked them if plastic tubs are the right alternative to which Debashish Neupane, the co-founder of the company stated, “We use plastic tubs because it is convenient for us. The general property of cotton candy is to shrink within 10 minutes of manufacturing and airtight plastic tubs are the only alternative we have.”

“However, we are aware of the effects of plastic and have made an offer of returning 10 empty tubs for a free tub of cotton candy, with no delivery charges. This way we can recycle and make less use of it. If it happens to be a hassle, people can use it as food storage as the tubs are airtight, microwaveable and super handy.”

They started with 5 flavors and increased it to 14 different flavors as to the date this article is in writing. Each flavor is inspired by artists and icons from various genres.

All the flavors are unique and out of all, Whiskey flavored cotton candy is interesting, and the company states that it is probably the first time in the world that we can experience it.

Nevertheless, they also customize their cotton candy boxes on various occasions like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and even Valentine’s Day. They put on creative themes to attract a wide range of customers.
