NEPSE index loses 48.73 points on Monday



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has declined sharply on Monday.

The stock market, which was closed on Sunday due to public holiday, reopened on Monday.

The market closed at 2307.44 points after shedding 48.73 points on Monday. In terms of percentage, the market lost 2.07 percent.

A total of 3,978,079 shares of 228 companies changed hands via 31,404 transaction, resulting in a turnover of Rs 1.43 billion.

Shares of Jalpa Microfinance rose the most by 9.99 percent with share price closing at Rs 1,256.80 on Monday. The share price of Support Microfinance also rose today.

However, the share price of Nepal Finance witnessed a negative circuit and fell to Rs 459. The share price of Union Hydropower also plummeted today.

Meanwhile, Arun Valley Hydropower Company registered highest turnover.
