IPL: Chennai defeats Hyderabad by 13 runs



PUNE: Chennai defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs to clinch their third victory in a match held on Sunday night under the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Hyderabad failed to meet the target of 203 runs set by Chennai.

Hyderabad lost six wickets in the allotted 20 overs and managed to score only 189 runs.

Nicholas Pooran (64) and skipper Kane Williamson (47) scored for Hyderabad while Abhishek Sharma scored 39 runs. Mukesh Chaudhary of Chennai took four wickets.

Batting first after losing the toss, Chennai lost two wickets in 20 overs and added 202 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad (99) and Devon Conway (85) scored half-centuries for him. T Natarajan of Hyderabad took two wickets.

Chennai, which is in the ninth place, has added six points from nine games. Hyderabad is in fourth place with 10 points.
