Nepal and India sign four agreements during Prime Minister Deuba’s India visit



KATHMANDU: Nepal and India signed four different agreements during Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s three day visit to India.

According to Foreign Ministry sources, the four agreements between the two countries, signed Saturday, include the International Solar Alliance between Nepal and India, technical assistance related to railways, supply of petroleum products and technical expertise between Nepal Oil Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation.

Earlier, Prime Minister Deuba and his Indian counterpart had held a one-on-one talk and the bilateral talks at Hyderabad House, New Delhi. After the bilateral meetings, the agreements were signed in the presence of the Prime Ministers.

Prior to it, Prime Minister Deuba laid wreath at the Gandhi’s samadhi on Rajghat on Saturday morning.

This is Prime Minister Deuba’s first official foreign trip in his fifth term as prime minister.

After the Prime Ministers of both the countries show the green flag, the train of Nepal Railway Company will run Jaya Nagar of India to Kurtha of Janakpur, Nepal.

Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the Nepali Congress president, went to the BJP office soon after landing in Delhi. He met BJP president JP Nadda and other representatives there.

Similarly, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Deuba on Friday.
