Pancheshwar project will be a ‘game changer’ for the region:  Indian Prime Minister Modi

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has said that the Pancheshwor Multipurpose Hydropower Project will be a game changer for the energy sector.

Speaking at a press conference organized at the Hyderabad House, New Delhi after meeting his Nepali counterpart Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, the Indian Prime Minister stressed on the importance of advancing the Pancheshwor project.

During talks with visiting Prime Minister Deuba,  Indian Prime Minister Modi said that energy sharing between the two countries would be important.

“Our joint approach to energy cooperation will be a blueprint for mutual cooperation,” he said, adding, “This project will prove to be a game changer for the development of this region.”

Indian Prime Minister Modi expressed happiness that Nepal is exporting its surplus electricity to India.
