NC Spokesperson Dr Mahat rules out electoral alliance among ruling partners

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has ruled out electoral alliance among the ruling coalition parties in the local level election.

NC Congress spokesperson Mahat said that there was no possibility of an electoral alliance among the ruling parties in the local elections to be held on May 13 this year.

He also argued that the parties would field candidates on their own as local level elections would be held keeping in view the local needs.

However, he clarified that no discussion has taken place within the ruling party on this issue.

Spokesperson Mahat reiterated that the parties should participate in the local level elections according to the principle of necessity and the principle of self-interest.

Stating that his party is confident that the local elections will be held on time, he said that the government has already taken steps for that.

Spokesperson Mahat said, “The crisis in the coalition was over the issue of MCC. This crisis has been averted since the understanding was made.”
