BP Koirala Hospital to provide compensation of Rs 50 thousand to women of Gandaki province for cancer treatment



CHITWAN: Women of Gandaki province suffering from cancer of the reproductive organs will get a concession of Rs 50,000 in their medical treatment.

The Gandaki Province government has entered into an agreement with the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital here in this regard.

Hospital’s executive director Dr Dej Kumar Gautam and Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population of the Province Government, Dr Shreeram Tiwari today signed a memorandum of understanding related to the free treatment assistance programme.

As per the MoU, the Gandaki provincial government will provide a concession of Rs 50,000 to women from the province for the treatment of cancer related to reproductive organs.

Executive director Dr Gautam said that the women from the province can avail this facility after spending the Rs 100 thousand provided by the federal government for the same.

He added that the women from Gandaki province and suffering from cancer of the reproductive organs will get a concession of Rs 50,000 from the province government after spending the Rs 100 thousand assistance provided by the Government of Nepal for their medical treatment.

According to him, this concession would be available for the treatment of breast cancer, ovarian cancer and cervical cancer, among others.

Dr Gautam shared that only the women who have proven residence in Gandaki province will get this health assistance.

Secretary Dr Tiwari informed that the MoU has been done in line with the Province government’s policy of providing medical support for the medical treatment of women suffering from the cancer of the reproductive organs.
