Federal Parliament Secretariat objects to ‘false narrations’ about Speaker

KATHMANDU: The Federal Parliament Secretariat has said its attention has been drawn to a ‘propaganda’ involving Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

In a press note issued by the Speaker’s media expert Shreedhar Neupane, the Secretariat said the propaganda about the Speaker who stands for democracy and constitutional supremacy was motivated by political bias.

The statement claimed to be of the Speaker is fabricated and misleading, it is said.

As the Secretariat said, a letterhead of country’s responsible political party citing the false statement is intended to establish a false narrative and it is objectionable.

Such fabricated and false accounts targeting the Speaker who is carrying out his duties and responsibilities abiding by the Constitution, the House of Representatives’ regulations and legal jurisdictions is objectionable, the statement added.
